The Team

Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Maaß

Professor and chair holder

Wolfgang Maaß is professor in Business Informatics at Saarland University, scientific director at Deutsche Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), and adjunct professor Stony Brook University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, NY.

Senior Researcher

Her field of research within her PhD thesis was the design and implementation of intelligent and cooperative user interfaces in the context of human-computer-interaction (HCI) with mixed motives of involved actors, i.e. congruent and incongruent, partial conflicting motives. Especially, cooperative dialogue systems in mixed motive dialogues have been considered from a computational pragmatics perspective.

Research Assistants

Maxx Richard Rahman

Maxx completed his master’s degree in particle physics at University of Bonn. In his research, he analysed the data from the ATLAS experiment at CERN by using machine learning techniques. He wrote his master’s thesis on “Search for vector-like quarks using boosted topologies”.

Contact person for the following lectures (current term):

  • Informationsmanagement
  • Seminar Quantencomputing im FinTechbereich
  • Seminar Resilienz-Management von Produktionsunternehmen

Hannah Stein

In research and industry projects, Hannah works on the specification of requirements engineering process models as well as the application of design science methods. Furthermore, she is doing research in the context of the evaluation of IT artifacts by means of experimental, empirical user studies.

Nurten Öksüz

Nurten Öksüz is research associate and PhD candidate at chair in Information and Service Systems (ISS), faculty of Business Administration, Saarland University, Germany.

Nurten Öksüz studied business administration and information systems at Saarland University. She wrote her master thesis about “Collecting and Analyzing Customer individual Bio-signals in Retail Environments”.

Qiang Chen

Qiang Chen has a master’s degree in electrical engineering and information technology from the University of Stuttgart. In his research work he investigates the application of machine learning on industry 4.0 and wrote his master thesis on the topic ” Segmentation in luminescence measurements of photovoltaic modules”.

Machine learning is the great passion of Qiang Chen. He works with the project “EVAREST” and is looking for applications of machine learning

Mina Ameli

Mina completed her Bachelor degree in Information Technology Engineering and she received a Master degree in Computer Engineering with specialization in Artificial Intelligence from Kharazmi University of Tehran. Her master thesis was about “Loop closure detection in dense RGB-D Odometry”, which she also accelerated the Odometry approach by CUDA programming.

Studying Artificial Intelligence has opened a window to great opportunities for her to gain experiences in different computer science fields. She is currently focusing her research on emerging Machine Learning Algorithms.

Dusan Dokic

Dusan completed his Bachelor degree in Business Administration at the Saarland University and is currently finishing his Master degree. His master thesis was about ” the development of a data quality index for the monetary evaluation of data”.
